DelalDelal ("Delal", "we", "us") is a messaging app developed by Bircode Technologies. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Delal, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Summary
- Your text messages are end-to-end encrypted. We can't read them.
- We don't show ads and we never sell your personal information.
- Our team only sees message content if a user chooses to attach screenshots to a report.
- You can delete your account and data at any time.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, display name, username and profile photo.
- Messages: text messages are encrypted on your device before they are sent; we store only the encrypted version. Photos, videos, voice messages and files you send are stored on our servers so they can be delivered to the recipient.
- Conversation information: who you chat with, when messages are sent, and whether they have been read. We need this to deliver messages and show your chat list.
- Reports: when you report a message, chat or person, we receive the reason you choose, the accounts involved, and any screenshots you decide to attach.
- Device and usage information: a push notification token, device model, operating system and app version, crash reports and basic usage analytics. Analytics may use your device's advertising identifier to measure app usage; Delal does not show ads.
How we use information

- To review reports, keep Delal safe and enforce our Terms.
- To fix bugs, prevent abuse and improve the app.
- To send important announcements about Delal.
- To comply with legal obligations.
End-to-end encryption
Each device generates its own encryption keys, and the private key is kept in your device's secure storage. Text messages are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using keys agreed through X25519, so only you and the person you are talking to can read them. Notifications only say that a new message has arrived and never contain your message text.
Photos, videos, voice messages and files are encrypted in transit and at rest on our servers, but are not yet end-to-end encrypted.
Reports and moderation
Because we cannot read your messages, reports rely on what the reporter chooses to share. Screenshots attached to a report are visible only to our moderation team and are used solely to review that report.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics) to operate Delal; Google processes data on our behalf under its own security and privacy commitments. We may disclose information if required by law, and only the information we actually hold.
Permissions
- Camera and photos: to take and send photos and videos, set a profile picture, or attach screenshots to a report.
- Microphone: to record voice messages.
- Storage: to save media you choose to download.
- Notifications: to alert you about new messages.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile, your conversations and the media you uploaded. We may keep report records for as long as needed to keep the service safe or to meet legal obligations.
Children
Delal is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
You can view and update your profile in the app, and delete your account at any time from your profile or through our account deletion page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access or delete your data — contact us to exercise them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the app or on this page.
