DelalConversations that stay between you.
Delal is a simple, private messenger for the people who matter. Send messages, photos, videos and voice notes — your text messages are encrypted on your phone, so only you and the person you're talking to can read them.
Everything you need. Nothing you don't.
Delal keeps messaging focused: fast conversations with the people you know, without feeds, ads or distractions.
Private messaging
One-to-one chats with end-to-end encrypted text. Only you and the other person can read what you write.
Photos, videos and files
Share moments in full quality and send documents when you need to. Save anything you receive to your phone.
Voice messages
Hold to record and send. Clear voice notes with a waveform so you can see what you're playing.
Private notifications
Get notified instantly. Notifications never include your message text, and you can mute any chat.
Read receipts
See when your message has been read, so you always know where a conversation stands.
Report a message, a chat or a person in a few taps, and attach screenshots to show our team what happened.
Your profile, your way
Pick a unique username and profile photo. People find you by username — no phone number required.
Full control
Delete your account at any time, and your profile, chats and media are permanently removed.
Built so we can't read your messages.
Privacy isn't a setting in Delal — it's how the app is designed, from the keys on your phone to the way we handle reports.
Keys stay on your device
Your phone creates its own encryption keys. The private key is stored in your device's secure keychain and never leaves it.
Modern cryptography
Every text message is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key agreed through X25519 — the same building blocks used by leading secure messengers.
Notifications without content
Notifications only say that a new message arrived. Your message text never passes through our notification service.
Safety without snooping
When you report someone, you choose which screenshots to share. That is the only message content our team ever sees.
Photos, videos, voice messages and files are protected by encryption in transit and at rest on our servers.

Questions, answered.
Is Delal free?
Yes. Delal is free to download and use on iPhone and Android, and there are no ads.
How is Delal different from other messaging apps?
Unlike most messengers, Delal doesn't need your phone number — you sign up with an email address and share a username instead. Text messages are end-to-end encrypted, there are no ads, and the app is built by a team in Kurdistan.
Can Delal read my messages?
No. Text messages are encrypted on your phone with keys that only you and the person you're talking to have. Our servers only store the encrypted version, which we cannot read.
What happens when I report someone?
You choose a reason and can attach up to three screenshots. Our team reviews the report using only what you shared and takes action against accounts that break our rules.
Do I need a phone number?
No. You sign up with an email address and people find you by your username.
Are photos and voice messages encrypted too?
Media is encrypted while it travels and while it's stored on our servers. End-to-end encryption currently covers text messages, and we're working on extending it to media.
How do I delete my account?
Open your profile in the app and tap Delete Account. Your profile, chats and media are permanently removed. See the account deletion page for other options.
Your conversations deserve privacy.
